Earlier yesterday, reviews of AMD’s Zen 4, non-X Ryzen 7000 Series CPUs hit the internet. Today, the new 65W CPUs are finally and officially available in Malaysia, giving users three additional options to choose from its large Socket AM5 portfolio.
To quickly recap, the new 65W, non-X Ryzen 7000 Series CPUs lineup comprises three SKUs. The first, and starting from the bottom, is the Ryzen 5 7600. Specs-wise, the CPU features 6-cores, 12-threads, has a maximum boost clock of 5.1GHz, and Combined L2 and L3 Cache of 38MB. Additionally, this model comes bundled with a low-profile Wraith Stealth Cooler.
Moving up the 65W non-X Ryzen 7000 Series ladder is the Ryzen 7 7000. Like its X-counterpart, the processor sports 8-cores, 16-threads, but has a maximum boost clock of 5.3GHz and a 40MB L2 and L3 combined Cache.
Last but not least, and sitting on the pedestal of the 65W non-X Ryzen 7000 Series is the Ryzen 9 7900. The processor comes with 12-cores, 24-threads, is capable of reaching a boost clock 5.4GHz out of the box, and has a Combined L2 and L3 Cache of 76MB. Another detail to take note of is that both this CPU and the 7700 come bundled with a Wraith Prism Cooler.
And in case we didn’t make ourselves clear from the beginning, all three CPUs have a maximum TDP of 65W, but this can obviously be increased if necessary.
As with all AMD Ryzen CPUs, the non-X Ryzen CPUs are unlocked, meaning that consumers who purchase these CPUs will be able to push them further and faster, beyond their out-of-box boost clocks.
Price-wise, the new 65W non-X Ryzen processors start from RM1069 for the Ryzen 5 7600, RM1569 for the 7700, and RM2069 for the 7900. All CPUs will be available on the shelves of all authorised retailers and PC stores in the country. At the time of writing, we are still conducting our testing for two of the CPUs , so keep an eye out for our report.
